Tool(s) used: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign
The Coin Collect Magazine was one of my most detailed and rewarding projects, requiring attention to a variety of elements including layout, typography, imagery, and thematic consistency. After thorough research on numismatic publications, I used Adobe Illustrator to create custom graphics and icons that represent Canadian coin history, followed by Adobe InDesign to assemble the magazine’s 28 pages. Key features included editor’s notes, mini-features on rare coins, collector spotlights, and a comprehensive cover story exploring the journey of Canadian currency globally. The most challenging part was balancing historical accuracy with engaging visual storytelling to appeal to both seasoned collectors and new enthusiasts. This project enhanced my skills in large-scale editorial design, project management, and understanding of cultural narratives through design. Printing and presenting the magazine gave me invaluable experience in transforming complex research into polished, accessible print media.
