The Nintendo Magazine is arguably my most time consuming project due to the amount of requirements such as colour, typography, imagery, dimensions, etc. After researching the magazine, I used Illustrator to create the logo, images in the required dimensions, and transferred over to InDesign. With InDesign, I added the text, profile feature, mini-feature, featured video game, and cover story. The hardest challenge I faced here was the amount of ideas for an ad that were relevant in 2023 as that was the year the featured game I focused on was released. The overall magazine was 28 pages and once it was complete, and the feedback provided by my professor, I printed the entire magazine on a 8.5 x 11 paper and presented it in class. What I learned from creating my magazine was how to manage a large-scale project from start to finish, including research, design, and production. I gained valuable experience in researching the Nintendo Power magazine’s structure, including its dimensions, colours, typography, and imagery, to recreate its essence accurately.
